If you deploy VNC to a computer without the DSM enabled, can you connect manually using vncviewer.exe? There's one that you can try with at c:\fastpush\vnc7\ultra\vncviewer.exe.

Hi Bill, You might want to apply the XP max-connections patch if you are seeing unreliable scan results. There's also one for SP3 in XP. Windows 2000 SP4 doesn't have this problem. It sounds like the computer properties in VNCScan is set to use encryption while the server is not. The ''uses encryption'' setting should be set to false in the computer properties. It's in the ''VNC Settings'' tab.Does this help?

Awesome! I was really excited when I stumbled upon the SP3 patch. I put a link to the patch on our download page next to the SP2 patch that was always up there. I even found one for Vista.

I think that XP SP3 resets the tcpip.sys file back to one that limits the number of concurrent TCP connections causing the scan to act flaky with too many open connections.
